Julia Garcia is an emerging young soprano gracing stages worldwide, including the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall and Mozarthaus Wien. Renowned for the versatility of her voice, her recent operatic appearances include Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Elsa in Wagner’s Lohengrin, and Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Wiener Festspiele in Vienna, Austria. She made her international concert debut at Divaldo na Vinohradech in Prague, Czech Republic under the baton of the Music Director of the National Theater Prague, where she was hailed for her performance of “Tatyana’s Letter Scene” from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. Ms. Garcia also performed scene work in Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi), La Bohème (Mimì), Don Giovanni (Donna Anna), La clemenza di Tito (Servilia), Le nozze di Figaro (Contessa), and Giulio Cesare (Cleopatra) at Opera Lucca in Lucca, Italy.In addition to her operatic roles, Ms. Garcia is an active concert soloist throughout the United States and internationally for oratorio works by composers such as Bach, Haydn, Poulenc, and Schubert. She previously toured with the California Lutheran University Choir across the United States and Spain, and has performed televised concerts in Romania. Julia has also sung The United States National Anthem for at numerous events in her hometown of Thousand Oaks, California.During her academic studies, Julia performed roles of Fortuna (L’incoronazione di Poppea) and The Witch and The Mother (Hansel and Gretel), as well as notable scenes from Der fliegende Holländer (Senta), Fidelio (Leonore), Dialogues des Carmélites (Madame Lidoine), Eugene Onegin (Tatyana), La Traviata (Violetta), Florencia en el Amazonas (Rosalba), The Crucible (Betty Parris), and La Bohème (Musetta and Mimì). She was a New York Semi Finals Winner of Music International Grand Prix 2022, and has participated in Masterclasses with prominent singers in the operatic industry such as Lisette Oropesa, Michael Fabiano, Andrew Garland, Victoria Loukianetz, and Noé Colín.A dedicated educator and scholar, Ms. Garcia formerly served as an Adjunct Instructor of Voice at New York University (NYU) Steinhardt. Having also pursued a Chemistry minor in her undergraduate studies, Ms. Garcia is a keen advocate for science in all forms, especially Vocology and Vocal Pedagogy. Ms. Garcia even holds an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from NYU Steinhardt. In 2019, she was awarded a research fellowship where she conducted and wrote her own study and thesis about the effects of age on the voice of singers.Ms. Garcia holds a Master of Music in Classical Voice and a Professional Studies Certificate from the Manhattan School of Music. Currently based in Miami, Florida, Julia Garcia is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance at the Frost School of Music at University of Miami.
